come to the table: a poem.

Come to the banquet, come take your seat

Come dine with the Almighty Prince of Peace

You aren’t left out, you aren’t forgotten

Come to the table and join the feast

Of peasants and sinners gathered around

They’ve traded their rags for a magnificent crown

The Lord calls them worthy, He says they belong

Come to the table and join the song

Come receive mercy and joy overflowing

God calls you royal, He calls you chosen

He’s near to the broken, He sees the one

There’s a seat at the table for all who would come
