compass: a poem.
When the fog is heavy and I can’t see through
When I’m hurting and confused
When I’m lost and unsure what to do
When I get stuck in all the wrong pursuits
When I’m broken and bruised
I’ll call on you
You are my compass guiding me
So I have nothing to fear
When I’m lost I’ll call on you
Because you make everything clear
When I’m worried that I’ll make the wrong turn
When I’m trying to discern
When I don’t know which path to take, I’ve learned
That you are the lamp at my feet
When it’s dark you’re leading me
And when I wander away
You call my name
You are my compass guiding me
So I have nothing to fear
When I’m lost I’ll call on you
Because you make everything clear
When the darkness surrounds me
And it seems like there’s no hope
You’re always protecting me
When I’m anxious and weary
And I feel so alone
You always comfort me
You are the lamp that guides my feet
So I have nothing to fear
When I’m lost I’ll call on you
Because you make everything clear
